Gowanda Electronics Honored by Technology Development Center

Gowanda, NY (USA) – Gowanda Electronics was one of seven manufacturing and technology companies honored by the Western New York Technology Development Center (TDC) as part of the TDC’s 20th anniversary celebration held in late June in connection with its annual Affiliates Reception.

The TDC uses its annual Affiliates Reception to honor companies in the Western New York region that exemplify technology, manufacturing and business excellence.  Founded in 1982, the TDC also celebrated its 20th anniversary this year and took the opportunity, at the reception, to highlight those companies that have made a difference in the Western New York economy over the last two decades.  The TDC also honored three public sector supporters at the event.

“We are pleased to honor Gowanda Electronics and the other companies.  In doing so, we recognize their commitment to improve their global competitiveness and position themselves as the ‘next generation’ manufacturing and technology companies in our community,” according to TDC President Robert Martin.

In comments made at the reception, David Schaack, President of Gowanda Electronics said, “The TDC has been instrumental in helping us to move forward.  The TDC’s insight, guidance and training were invaluable when we undertook lean business principles in order to enhance Gowanda’s competitive position in the global electronics marketplace.  We are now able to compete with the ‘big guys’ – something that might not have been possible without the TDC’s assistance.”

The TDC is a private, not-for-profit corporation located in Amherst, New York whose goal is to strengthen, expand and diversify the manufacturing and technology base in a 5 county region of upstate New York.  It is associated with the New York State Office of Science, Technology and Academic Research (NYSTAR) and is one of 78 centers in the United States affiliated with the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership to provide business consulting services to small-to-medium sized manufacturers and technology companies.
