New Surface Mount Inductors Enhance Solderability

Gowanda, NY (USA) – Gowanda Electronics is introducing a new series of surface mount inductors at the 2001 Wireless Symposium, being held February 13 – 15, 2001 in San Jose, CA (USA). This new wirewound “CC” series is designed with terminations which result in improved solderability and therefore easier/faster assembly, enhanced system performance and greater system reliability.

This series of surface mount inductors is targeted for use in RF applications in the electronics industry, especially for wireless and test & measurement equipment where solderability is a major concern. More information will be available at the company’s exhibit booth #239.

The CC series was designed in response to the market’s need for higher reliability and improved mechanical consistency. This series, the result of a major upgrade, is being offered to the electronics engineering & assembly communities. In addition to enhanced solderability, the CC series of products can be designed with higher inductance and Q values as application-specific designs, enabling engineers to maximize circuit performance. Applications for the CC Surface Mount Inductors include all RF signal circuitry in communications equipment, test & measurement equipment, medical diagnostic equipment and industrial process control equipment. Other applications include use in computers, computer peripherals, security systems, instrumentation, bar code and laboratory analysis equipment.

This new inductor series complements Gowanda’s extensive range of leading edge designs for RF and power applications, including its most recently introduced “CMF2” Surface Mount Common Mode Filter and “Power Pod” Surface Mount Inductor.

Key to the CC Series cost-effective performance is Gowanda’s flexibility to adjust the manufacturing processes to peak the performance for a specific usage frequency.
